Fionn Cottage is a purpose built, Architect designed cottage standing in its own grounds with open outlook to front and rear. Located in the village of Achnasheen it is the ideal base from which to tour the Scottish Highlands. Both the East and West coast are within an hours drive, whilst an hour and a half will see you on the Isle of Skye. Beinn Eighe National Nature reserve is twelve miles away and the area is rich in wildlife. Red deer are seen regularly from the cottage windows. There are pine martens, foxes, badgers and occasionally wildcat. For bird lovers golden eagle buzzard, peregrine and osprey are seen whilst red and black throated divers are often to be found on nearby lochs from May to September. Ideally situated for climbers at the foot of Fionn Bhein and with views to Sgurr a Ghlas Leathaid and Sgurr a Mhuilinn. There are numerous other Munros in the area. For the more serious, where better than Scotland's oldest mountains in Glen Torridon fifteen minutes away with many challenging routes. The Cottage sleeps a maximum of six. |
